I'm still waffling about my word, but think it will be love - lots there to integrate into my daily life.
Any book here that I did not already have on my want to read list is now on it. I haven't even read Speak yet, although someone gave me a copy the other day. I will try and get to it before I get to this one. Reading is important, but it's not supposed to take over our lives. I'm glad you're taking care of yourself. I'm also glad you've shared a list of brand new books that I haven't read yet. I'm looking forward to finding some of them and curling up with them. I have only had the chance to read one of these books, so far, Up for Air, which I thought was really good and will have an impact on tweens who feel like teens.
You have a number of books I am hoping to obtain soon such as New Kid, The Hunt for the Mad Wolf's Daughter, The Bridge Home and Over the Moon. I have all three of the YA books on my TBR list, but I am hoping to get them from a public library as I don't think they will work in my K-7. I agree about the impact of The Hate U Give, it did what I thought All-American Boys would do. I keep a copy of Speak in my basement YA shelf for when people I know get older, and I may have to pick up Shout for the same reason. Thanks for a wonderfully full post! Any one of them could appear at my front door and I'd be thrilled. I think you're so right about the impact of The Hate U Give. I even have friends who only saw the movie who are talking about this book and the social issues. Thank you so much for sharing all these and I hope to see you again very soon!2Shaye ♪♫https://www.blogger.com/profile/10473467039770299975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059745967759944669.post-63426161885621622022019-01-14T07:37:48.395-08:002019-01-14T07:37:48.395-08:00I just finished New Kid and also loved it. I'm looking forward to The Bridge Home, which is on my #MustRead list and might be the next book I tackle on that list. Also very much looking forward to the new Lynda Mulally Hunt. I can't keep her other books on the shelf (in fact, I've lost several copies of Fish in a Tree because students just can't bear to return it!)Elisabeth Ellingtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00747914394861199796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059745967759944669.post-981667336602330802019-01-14T05:51:07.877-08:002019-01-14T05:51:07.877-08:00I did not choose a #oneword but balance, moderatio...I did not choose a #oneword but balance, moderation or simplify would have been mine. I recently finished Shouting at the Rain and The Hunt for Mad Wolf's Daughter and loved them both. New Kid is also one of my favorite recent reads. Jerry Craft is an amazing artist and storyteller.
