Celebrate This Week 8.16.14

It's always good to end the week on a positive note.  Sometimes we concentrate on the negatives.  We have a choice.  Choose positive.  Choose to celebrate.  I will be joining Ruth Ayres and her weekly link-up, Celebrate This Week.  Check out all the other celebrations HERE

I had quite the week!  It started out with my first triathlon and will end with going back to school!
You may or may not remember my original Summer Reading post.  I celebrated summer reading and showed off my stacks.  This is the post where I go back and show you how I read everything!  Ooops, not going to be that post!  I did read.  Just not always from my stack.  But looking at my numbers at the end shows I did pretty well overall!

1.  Read some book series that I've really wanted to read, but just haven't done:
The Land of Stories, books 2 + 3 by Chris Colfer  Read book 2 7.30.14
Countdown and Revolution by Deborah Wiles
The False Prince trilogy by Jennifer Nielsen  Read book 1 6.27.14
The Testing trilogy by Joelle Charbonneau
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
The Unwanteds series by Jennifer McMann
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

2.  Get through my TBR pile!  Well, I'll never actually get all the way through it over the summer, but at least make a dent is a reasonable goal.  I have a middle grade TBR list, a young adult TBR list and an adult TBR list!  I need to get busy :)

Paperboy by Vince Vawter  currently reading!
Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien
One Came Home by Amy Timberlake
Read A Corner of the Universe by Ann M. Martin 6.27.14

I may not have crossed everything (or even half) off my summer reading list, but as you can see, I did read!  I'll keep plugging through this list.  Now it's my Fall TBR list :)

  2. Since I see your Monday reading, I know that you read so much, Michele. You're way more organized than I am, but I'm happy you got to read what you wanted to. Congrats again on the triathlon-just a terrific accomplishment!

  3. Wow! You definitely have a great book total! I don't do a lot of blog posts about reading goals because this same thing happens to me too. I choose books by how I feel so it is hard to stick to predetermined lists. I am so impressed by the fact that you completed a triathlon. Awesome! Have a great week.

  4. Wow...a triathalon?!?! I'm impressed. Congratulations!! I am impressed with your reading too. I wrote a post last week about my goals and what I didn't do and then followed it with a list of what I actually did. Celebrate your accomplishments...even if you didn't read all you planned! :)

  5. WOW! You say you haven't read as much as you wanted but it sure looks as though you read a LOT! I liked that your comment about reading things that you hadn't planned to read - even if it wasn't on your list! I love how organized your lists are! Congratulations on completing your first triathlon! I know how much time training takes! Well done!

  8. Wow,WOW! What a stack. I have read some of these. Not all. In some ways the stack is daunting, but comforting in the same way. Always something to go to. Just at the books store and added Rump to my stack. I'm actually really getting into graphic novels. I think it is an area to really develop. If I could only afford it!
