Celebrate This Week! 7.05.14

It's always good to end the week on a positive note.  Sometimes we concentrate on the negatives.  We have a choice.  Choose positive.  Choose to celebrate.  I will be joining Ruth Ayres and her weekly link-up, Celebrate This Week.  Check out all the other celebrations HERE

"How has your summer been going?"
"We've been so busy! I think we're busier now than during the school year!"

I've caught myself saying that more than once, how busy we are, we haven't been home, I'm filling in time with all of the things I don't get to do when the school year is here.

I almost sound like I'm complaining.

But wait, what are we busy with?

Swim team, swim team party, my master's swim group, going to the neighborhood pool, golf lessons, dance recitals, family photo shoot, Twitter chats, trips to the library, trips to the bookstore, family vacation to Colorado Springs...

Trips to Target, Mariano's (our new grocery store!), eye doctor, pick up new glasses, oil change for the car, working out, haircuts...

Anything bad in there?  Nope.

You know, sometimes, being busy is a good thing.  We don't always see it that way, but when you think about the alternative, it's good.  I like the things I'm busy with.  I could always do with more time in my life.  But I also like what I am doing.  School will come soon and another kind of busy time will take over.  For now I'm going to say thank you.  Thank you God, thank you family, thank you friends.  Thank you for keeping me busy with good things in my life.  I celebrate.

  1. Summer has been so busy this year that my blogging schedule has even been impacted. But despite the busy-ness of the summer I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has been a good summer. Continue to enjoy your summer.

  2. Michele, I find myself doing the same thing, saying "It's a busy summer." I like how you reminded yourself and your readers to appreciate the busy-ness of life. :) Have a great week!

  3. I find myself saying the same thing. It's a different kind of busy. However, the summer-time busy is not nearly as stressful. I think that's the difference. Less deadlines & expectations - only those that you put on yourself.

  4. whenever i feel too stressed, i take a look at what's keeping me busy and decide whether they're things i love to do or things i made myself do in spite of myself. luckily, most of the time, it's the former!

  6. All those things are good things to celebrate I agree, Michele. I do like to keep busy, & filling the days with things I didn't get to do while working is a pleasure. Happy you reminded me about it.
