Celebrate This Week 5.24.14

It's always good to end the week on a positive note.  Sometimes we concentrate on the negatives.  We have a choice.  Choose positive.  Choose to celebrate.  I will be joining Ruth Ayres and her weekly link-up, Celebrate This Week.  Check out all the other celebrations HERE

Celebration #1 - It's Memorial Day weekend!  I want to first celebrate my cousin, Kevin, who has recently returned from a tour of duty.  I never want to take for granted the freedom I experience everyday of my life.  Thank you to all the people who serve, as well as their families!
I have some plans for this long weekend, but not tons, which means lots of reading time!  I even have an adult book checked out from the library ready to enjoy.  I'm sure there will be little things that pop up over the weekend, but I'm really looking forward to some down time, as well!

Celebration #2 - I am thankful for my colleague, Laura.  We have gone on such a journey together this year.  We've had highs and lows and have learned so much.  We sat down together today and hashed out some plans for next year.  We are attempting some new things (again) next year and I'm thankful she not only listens to my ideas, but always adds another perspective and talks through things with me.  I know I inundate her with my research and she's always patient with me and helps me think through these ideas and see things through.

Celebration #3 - my fancy nails. For some people this would be a silly celebration.  But I look at my nails and see the fun design my friend does and I smile.  I have been with my nail tech for 13 years.  We've become friends and I love our chats.  She's moving out of state soon so I'm going to celebrate my nails and what she does for my spirit!

Enjoy a fantastic Memorial Day weekend with family and friends!

  2. I'm thankful for your cousin, too, Michele. We forget often how much we have to be grateful for, & the sacrifices others make for us. Love that you have a wonderful colleague to work with-a joy! And love your nails! I've never done that, maybe someday, but love seeing yours! Have that lovely & restful weekend you are looking for!

  5. I like all the celebrations but particularly the joy for the friendship with your nail tech. My Mom had the same hair stylist for almost 50 years. There are good people everywhere. Have a great weekend, Michele.

  7. Such a great variety of celebrations this week. And beautiful nails. My friend Thuy does a regular post on her blog called Manicure Monday and she matches her manicure to what she is reading. And I love your celebration of the journey you are on with your colleague. Those are special.

  9. Those are some nails. :-) The only colour I have on my nails ever is mud from working in the garden! Yours look fun! So great to have someone to work so closely with and to plan and evaluate! We don't all have this. When we do, it is so worth celebrating!
